No news is good news!

May 13, 2011 by Toby Martini Leave a Comment

CONFESSION:

I haven’t watched the news for the past ten years. I don’t read the newspaper either because I don’t want or need to know about all the bad stuff happening around the globe. My life is about creating good stuff.

Do I miss big things? Never. Somehow I stay current to the major happenings in the world. If something grabs me, I can always jump on the net and delve into it.

I do quite fine without the daily reports of the murders, robberies, and accidents that have happened in my town, my country and around the world. I don’t want to know the details and horrors of all that.

It’s not that I am naive and gleefully walking through life ignoring that bad things happen, BUT… the world is filled with both good and bad. And while it is important to be informed about something that might be a danger or have impact on me and mine, I don’t need to be constantly wallowing in the world’s misery.

I want to see the beauty, surround myself with joy, and laugh and enjoy my family, friends, and life!

I know that my life is more joyful, and happier since I quit being deluged with the constant stream of bad news. Who wouldn’t want that?

Who will end the recession?

June 7, 2010 by Toby Martini Leave a Comment

No Recession Entrepreneurs are making the difference!

Check out this article in USA Today giving kudos to those that are actually out there creating jobs and getting the money moving around.

http://blogs.usatoday.com/oped/2009/11/column-give-thanks-for-job-creators-.html

Want to end the “recession”? Start a business and employ some people!

And please remember: There is no recession. It’s all made up. You can’t point at a thing called a recession. It’s just an agreement.

One day, someone woke up and said, “Things aren’t going well.” He told some folks and they told some folks. Sooner or later, one of the folks was a journalist and it got spread like crazy. Then it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. People start fearing that it will be bad and so they stop spending and stop creating. And now, the economy slows down. And THAT provides evidence to the naysayers and they yell louder. Sheesh!

People, please… enjoy life. Go on vacation. Buy the car because you need one. Take your family out to dinner and really enjoy their company. Your life is going on while you are fretting about how it “should be” better and how you are playing small “because the economy is bad right now.”

There are a LOT of people out there right now, making a LOT of money.

Go create something that people want or need and, most importantly, get some people to Agree with you that it’s needed and you’ll be set!
